The United Network Equipment Dealer Association (UNEDA), an alliance of pre-owned network equipment dealers worldwide, is pleased to announce an expansion of membership from January 2013 to present.

UNEDA currently is comprised of approximately 280 members representing different companies worldwide. Of these companies, 45 are based outside the United States. Since January 2013, UNEDA has only accepted 26 companies into membership. Nine of these 26 new members are located outside of the United States.

Ben Maroney has recently been appointed as the new Membership Committee Chair. He replaces Gillian Canty-Ross, whose years of selfless service will always be appreciated. Maroney believes that "UNEDA constantly and consistently works hard to bring credit and esteem to our industry. The introduction and support of industry standards solidifies the association's value. New members only are considered if they comply with the same standards while enhancing the reputation of the association and the industry as a whole."

The membership committee's goal is to boost association delegation—with a particular focus on international applicants; therefore, the application process remains open yearlong. Maroney states, "The association's future is focusing on international expansion and promotion. Like the universal equipment we sell, UNEDA hopes to make our name commonplace around the world. Since January 2013, 34 percent of new association members were located outside North America. We hope to keep that momentum going through further global development."

Should any qualified Pre-Owned Cisco dealer be interested in joining UNEDA, an application can be found on the website: http://uneda.com/join-uneda/.
