ShaSa Resorts Welcomes 500th Taiwanese Guest

ShaSa Resorts and Residences is delighted to announce it welcomed its 500th Taiwanese guest through its doors last month, a remarkable figure given the unpopularity of Koh Samui island with Taiwanese citizens and the fact that the resort has been in operation for less than three years.

Unlike more popular destinations such as Bangkok and Phuket, Koh Samui tends to slide off the radar somewhat when it comes to visitors from Taiwan, who seem to prefer Thailand's more internationally renowned destinations to the Gulf of Thailand's pearl. This makes the arrival of ShaSa's 500th Taiwanese guest all the more remarkable, given that the island is traditionally the preserve of European tourists and seldom visited by citizens of Taiwan.

The hosting of its 500th Taiwanese guest in October coincided with celebrations for the 100th year of the Republic of China's existence, yet Shasa Resorts manager Mr. Chawalit was quick to downplay any connection between that event and the new record-setting arrival. According to Mr. Chawalit, more than half of the resort's total number of Taiwanese guests stayed during 2011, something that is a testament to the resort's brand awareness campaign in Asian countries.

"We have made efforts to establish the ShaSa brand as a name synonymous with luxury holidays, and that's appealing to Asian consumers," said Mr. Chawalit.

He also pointed out that ShaSa's reputation for offering full value for money is something that is helping the brand to become more popular with Asian visitors to Koh Samui:

"Many of our Taiwanese guests here about us through word of mouth, a testament to the fine quality of service that we provide here. Our guests are generally completely satisfied with the accommodations and services at our boutique resort, and naturally they go and tell their friends and acquaintances about us."

ShaSa Resort is hoping to build on this newly established niche market and establish the resort as the number one luxury destination for all Taiwanese visitors to Koh Samui, who are predicted to grow in number in the coming years.

ShaSa are planning a number of enticements for Asian visitors over the coming months, so Taiwanese visitors are encouraged to watch this space for more news.

ShaSa Resort and Residences is an award-winning boutique hotel at Laem Sett Beach on Koh Samui, and offers superb facilities for its guests, including top grade spa facilities, water sports, car rental, travel and tour assistance and much more. Guests are also able to dine at the renowned Beyond the Sea Restaurant, which offers gourmet Thai and International cuisine, as well as a number of delicacies by its guest Head Chef Oan Kuldiloke of the Felice Pasta & Dessert Bar.
