Revered Tempe Fine Dining Restaurant Offers Fundraising Dinners in December

Top of the Rock at The Marriott Buttes Resort in Tempe Helps Habitat for Humanity Build a House

Top of the Rock Tempe fine dining restaurant at the Phoenix Marriott Tempe at The Buttes resort announces the continuation of their fundraising efforts to assist Habitat for Humanity in raising funds to build a home next month. The current Charity Dinner initiative began in November 2012 and continues through the end of the year. In January 2013, The Phoenix Marriott Tempe at The Buttes and its employees will take part in building a home for a deserving family through a local chapter of Habitat for Humanity. Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona, a Christian-based organization, builds, renovates and repairs simple, decent and affordable homes in partnership with families in need.

December's Charity Dinner was created by Chef Gavino Borquez and includes an "American Classics" approach including a starter Wedge Salad, a Surf & Turf entree and a Caramel-Apple Walnut Cheesecake dessert. The prix fixe dinner is priced at $34.00 per person, $5.00 of which is donated toward the Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona project.

"We've already sold over 390 charity dinners and we're about half way to our goal," said Phoenix Marriott at The Buttes General Manager Steve Eberhardt. "We're hopeful that our guests and local diners from the greater Phoenix region will help us meet our $4.000.00 goal by the end of December."

The Charity Dinner series continues a commitment by Top of the Rock and the Phoenix Marriott Tempe at the Buttes to local and national charities. Each month the Tempe restaurant chooses a charity recipient to benefit from funds raised by the restaurant's efforts. Previous charities include a local chapter of Ronald McDonald House, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Hearing for Humanity and Special Olympics Arizona.

"Our commitment to the community runs deep," states Top of the Rock's executive chef Gregory Wiener. "Our restaurant is well known and beloved in Tempe and we love giving back, so each month we offer a special menu to help raise funds for a local or handpicked charity. It's just good business."

A recent consumer generated media from website TripAdvisor user "iheartindy" included a mention of the charity dinner menu, "The meal consisted of a wedge salad, steak and prawns, and cheesecake. Everything was amazing! I think it's better than Capital Grille. The food was well worth our money...".
