20/10/2009 AMMAN - New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) has officially launched its new website (www.nyit.edu.jo) after the site went under a revamp at the hands of experts from the university's IT Department, who enriched it with interactive services and state-of-the-art web technologies.

Following the launch, NYIT Executive Chairman in the Middle East Dr. Mohamed Hussein commended the exceptional efforts exerted by the IT Department to give the website a makeover that reflects the vibrancy of the university and its academic and administrative staff.

The new edition of the site contains detailed information on the objectives of the university, its strategic plan, advantages of studying at NYIT, and a complete guide to programs it offers at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Details of study plans for each academic program and faculty members concerned are also a key component of the site's content.

NYIT's website also details admission policies and criteria and allows applicants to fill admission forms online.

Among the advanced web-based services is the posting of the university's news and latest activities in a convenient and attractive fashion, allowing a certain level of authority for selected members to manage the content.

The designers have also added the RSS service, which allows re-directing the content to external sites that provide subscribers with the latest news the moment they are uploaded on the site.

The Executive Chairman said the site's development process is not over yet, explaining that NYIT plans in the second phase of the makeover to introduce more interactive services such as uploading and downloading sound and video files.

NYIT, a non-profit university, has had a presence in Jordan since 2001 under an academic agreement with the Jordan University of Science and Technology. The university seeks to provide the labor market with highly qualified graduates. Currently, the university comprises three faculties: Administrative Sciences, Computer Science and Engineering and Fine Arts.
