Mashabrand Is Launched on the Internet to Become the Most Desirable Advertising Space in the World.

Two young Newbury-based entrepreneurs have set up a quirky advertising page called Mashabrand to broadcast brands to the millions of internet users worldwide and make £1 million of revenue in the process.

Michael Suppo and Gemma Lowe, owners of www.Mashabrand.com, have created a giant feature called 'The Square' made up of 10,000 blocks, each worth £100 each. They are offering these blocks to businesses, website owners and bloggers across the globe, who can purchase either one or as many as they want (if the space is there), and this becomes their plot. They can then place an image of their brand in their plot on the 'The Square' which directs traffic to a link of their choice, whether it is a website, blog, Twitter account, Facebook page or even an iTunes link to their app. Their aim is to bring worldwide press to the plot, and generate global traffic to the link of these brands.

Since being made redundant last July, Michael Suppo has gone into iPhone app development to make money, though he comments it has been slow because the app store has become flooded with apps since developers view it as a goldmine. However, the app store became his inspiration for this idea. Michael says "Building on smartphone apps like Icomania and Logo Quiz, we like the idea of having an internet spectacle that gives recognition to brands from a mash of sectors, and hopefully give 1 million pounds a great home. Although our venture has a modicum of novelty value, we are serious and genuine and would love some global businesses with brand identities across many sectors to come and join us on this exciting journey! It is definitely a punt which could turn out to be the best investment they may ever make!"

Mashabrand.com was launched on Wednesday the 25th of June and has so far been seen in 38 countries. The owners are generating interest and attention from the trillions of daily internet traffic, business owners, social media bloggers and journalists. In just one week they have sold £2800 worth of space to three UK businesses - two of which are from their home town; ImproveMyFace.co.uk, who bought a 50x50 block, and Advanced Health and Beauty, and also a Wedding Photography business from Southampton.
