Democratic Senate Candidate Garner is Gaining on Mikulski

Simultaneous polling results put Garner at 40 per cent of likely voters versus 43 per cent for Mikulski. Internal Campaign Sources.

Democrat Chris Garner, Maryland candidate for the United States Senate, has been measuring his success one person at a time. At the start of this political season, newcomer Chris Garner was a virtual unknown. In the meantime he has canvassed the entire State of Maryland, including stationing himself at the entrance to 12 Maryland Metro stations and greeting thousands of potential voters. He is also the only Democratic challenger to file campaign financial information with the FEC.

Mr. Garner has also personally handed out over 30,000 of his business cards which feature his picture, internet information sources backed by one of his favorite recipes. Over the course of the summer the margin of Metro riders favoring his candidacy steadily increased. Mikulski's continuing erosion of voter support is due to the party's failure to come to grips with the economy, illegal immigration and jobs, and a general malaise over incumbents.

He says that Senator Mikulski is a no show on the campaign trail and has not attended any of the many functions drawing other Senate candidates such as a recent Candidate's Night Out forum sponsored by Hampden Community Council. This event was even attended by sitting members of the United States Congress, Representatives John Sarbanes and Elijah Cummings. While Chris Garner has met or at least seen all the other candidates in his race and is on first name basis with many, he has never met his opponent and is looking forward to debating her.

Chris Garner is a Scientist/Engineer and businessman, and has over thirty years experience as a Registered Professional Engineer solving problems in all areas of business and industry. He is a graduate of Bowie High School and the University of Maryland School of Engineering and is married with three children. He has five basic issues that all derive from a single concern that his party ceased to represent working men and women of the United States and is now concerned only with special interests... the ones that pay the most money.
