Mark Haley of Smart City Networks To Discuss The Practice Of Providing In-House Trade Show Services At Convention Centers

Mark Haley, president of Smart City Networks, will be a featured speaker at the Midyear Meeting of the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE)

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Mark Haley, president of Smart City Networks will be a featured speaker at the Midyear Meeting of the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) being held in Washington D.C., May 31 through June 1 at the Fairmont Hotel.

IAEE's Midyear Meeting offers tailored education and networking opportunities focused on the needs of exhibitions and events industry professionals. According to the IAEE, "Not only will attendees have a chance to actively participate in peer-to-peer discussions but also learn from industry experts who are making changes and taking risks to enhance their own exhibitions and events."

A 30 year veteran of meetings and conventions industry, Haley will be a member of a panel discussing the evolving business practice of offering in-house services at convention centers and hotels. The session will look at the objectives of offering in-house exclusive services as well as the impact on event organizers, exhibitors and suppliers. The panel also will engage with the audience through an open discussion with the panelists on this hot issue which to many is among the most provocative in the industry.

In addition to Haley, the panel will include David Causton, general manager of McCormick Place in Chicago, Ill.; David Audrain, CEM, president and CEO of Clarion Events North America; Aaron Bludworth chief operation officer of Fern Exposition and Event Services; Glenda Brungardt, tradeshow event manager for the Hewlett-Packard Company and Rick Simon, CEO and president of United Services Companies.

The panel will be held on Friday, June 1 at 8:45 a.m., and will be moderated by Steven Hacker, CAE, FASAE, president of IAEE.
