The sub-theme ‘Digital India’ was designed to deliberate upon the role of professionals in Digital India. In line with the Government’s drive around Digital India where the core objectives are to create a digital infrastructure, promote overall digital literacy and deliver services digitally, LexisNexis unveiled its transformational product – LexisGreen™, which establishes a strong connect with the Government’s Digital India initiative, during this occasion.
Mr. P.K. Malhotra, Secretary, Ministry of Law & Justice said, “Digital India is an ambitious project launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but the government can’t succeed unless the entire industry participates as a whole.”
Mr. Ashish Chandra, General Counsel, Snapdeal, mentioned during the session, “The Digital India concept is a huge responsibility on the shoulders of the law ministry to make sure that the laws are updated and not ambiguous for someone to misuse. The legal challenges that Digital India might face are that the laws are still outdated. There are spectrum issues, data privacy issues and product liability issues.”
Mr. Premkumar Seshadri, Executive Vice-Chairman and Director of HCL Infosystems Ltd., said, “Digital power, in the hands of the citizens, is the first step towards the empowerment of the citizens. The need of the hour is to empower the citizens, by doing business online, both in the B2B as well as B2C space.”

LexisGreen™ offers mobility and access to various e-books organized by different areas of law at a very affordable price. Once registered, these e-books can be accessed anytime without the Internet.
