Greek Catholic Union Opens Ski Weekends to Non-members

Fraternal organization announces ski weekends. Previously these events were 'member/guest only,' but now the GCU welcomes non-member church and youth groups.

BEAVER, PA - In response to the recent cold and snowy weather, the Greek Catholic Union (GCU), announced this week the dates for their 3 ski weekends, with a change in the events' structure to invite non-member groups from regional churches to be a part of the fun. "These weekends promote the social benefits of belonging to a fraternal organization and allow members an opportunity to introduce new friends and family to the GCU," states Fraternal Director, Christie Petty. "The GCU has always promoted events within our churches as many parishioners are members. We have always welcomed guests but by announcing this change it may allow more families and youth groups the opportunity to join in on a social weekend at a discount."

Ski packages are available for the weekend of January 23, 2010 at both Big Boulder Resort in the Pocono Mountains, Pennsylvania and Boyne Mountain in Michigan, as well as the weekend of January 30, 2010 at Hidden Valley Resort in the Laurel Mountains of Western Pennsylvania. Registration materials can be obtained on the Greek Catholic Union Website, www.gcuusa.com, or by calling the GCU Headquarters at 1-800-722-4428, extension 217.
