The "Take A Steak In America" Voting Awareness Campaign

Tampa, FL - Charley's Steak House and Texas Cattle Company launched a $50,000 "Take a Steak in America" public awareness campaign on Monday, Oct. 25, to urge voters in Orlando, Tampa, St. Petersburg and Lakeland to cast their ballots in the midterm election on Tuesday, Nov 2.

Ron Woodsby, owner of Talk of the Town Restaurant Group, is personally financing this campaign and states, "You can make a difference! Without your vote, your children's future and America's is at stake. Many people have shed their lives in order to give you the opportunity to vote. We more then ever need to act on that opportunity. Make yourself heard! Let the politicians know we are definitely not happy with the way things are going right now. Vote November 2nd."

On Monday, Nov. 1, and Tuesday, Nov. 2, restaurant employees will be at several intersections throughout Orlando, St. Petersburg, Lakeland, Tampa, Celebration and Lake Mary areas with "Take a Steak in America" picket signs to encourage people to vote on Nov. 2. On Election Day, restaurant employees will thank voters for taking the time to vote by handing out "America's at Steak - I Voted" bumper stickers at various polling locations in Orange, Seminole, Polk, Pinellas and Hillsborough counties.

Leading up to Election Day, five electronic billboards throughout Tampa and Orlando will encourage residents to vote. Once the ballots have been cast, the billboards will display a message of thanks for those who chose to "Take a Steak in America." The messages of encouragement and thanks will be augmented through extensive signage outside six Charley's Steak House and Texas Cattle Company locations, as well as through an engaging e-mail and social media campaign.

The two-week public awareness campaign started on Monday, Oct. 25 when the billboards went up at these locations:
