Bishop Eddie Long Scandal Is There A Deal On The Table?

When the sex scandal involving Bishop Eddie Long broke back in mid September many observers and theologians felt that the CNN news reports would eventually cause Bishop Long to step down. Nearly two months later, not only has he not resigned as senior pastor of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church but he's now perhaps more popular than ever.

A spokesperson for the Preacher Bureau of Investigations (www.PimpPreacher.com) says the reason Bishop Eddie Long is still firmly in place is because he is the CEO of New Birth Church.

"Mega Ministries are an entirely different species from traditional churches in that the Pastor has the final say on every issue concerning the church. The Board of Trustees is reduced to nothing more then a small group of his golf buddies, which leaves the door open to lavish spending and a lack of accountability."

According to a member of New Birth, church attendance remains at full capacity, and the praise & worship during the services has also remained at a very high level. At a recent religious rally in Atlanta many in the crowd actually wondered if the annual headliner would make an appearance. It was later announced that due to a family emergency Bishop Eddie Long would not be in attendance, but the anticipation was still enough to attract the local media.

There appears to be a thick cloud of silence hovering over the scandal which has legal experts wondering if there is in fact a deal on the table.

The plaintiffs' attorney B.J. Bernstein claimed she doesn't have much physical evidence supporting the complaints, but she intends to subpoena records from Bishop Long that will indicate he traveled with the young men to New Zealand and other destinations.

Attorney B.J. Bernstein has failed to produce any new evidence to support her allegations that Bishop Eddie Long coerced four men (including Jamal Parris) into sexual relationships.

A spokesperson for the Preacher Bureau of Investigations (www.PimpPreacher.com) issued a request to the plaintiffs' attorney B.J. Bernstein to produce physical evidence supporting the complaints but has yet to receive a reply.
