Successful behavior change and sustained weight loss are very difficult to accomplish. Noom combines scientifically-proven principles with exceptional UX and design to make weight loss and long term behavior change possible.

New Research on Mobile Application for Weight Loss

In the largest study of its kind, evaluating weight loss using a mobile application, Noom Coach successfully drove sustained weight loss in 78 percent of users across a 9-month period.

Noom Coach’s robust food database and red-yellow-green color coding system provide immediate feedback to users — helping them make better choices when it matters most.

“Winning the Red Dot 2017 is a huge honor and represents the passion of our design team to deliver the best experience to help people live healthier lives,” said Saeju Jeong, co-founder and CEO of Noom. “This recognition reinforces UX is an incredibly important component toward keeping users engaged so they can successfully change their behaviors and prevent chronic conditions.”

The Red Dot Award: Communication Design is one of the most renowned evaluation platforms for good design and creativity. This year alone, there were more than 8,000 submissions from around the world. Winners were selected by an independent and international expert jury.

“I am delighted that agencies, designers and companies from all over the world have once again used the Red Dot Award: Communication Design as an evaluation platform,” said Professor Dr. Peter Zec, founder and CEO of the Red Dot Award. “It is important to subject one’s own achievements to scrutiny again and again in order to constantly improve and maximise the potential for success. I congratulate the Red Dot winners on the high design quality of their work. The award testifies to the fact that they are pursuing the right design strategy.”

Noom and other winners of the Red Dot Award will be featured in the International Yearbook Communication Design 2017/2018. Red Dot’s “Best of the Best” award will also be awarded at a special gala event on Oct. 27, 2017 in Berlin.

About the Red Dot Design Award:
In order to appraise the diversity in the field of design in a professional manner, the Red Dot Design Award breaks down into the three disciplines of Red Dot Award: Product Design, Red Dot Award: Communication Design and Red Dot Award: Design Concept. The Red Dot Award is organised by Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen and is one of the world’s largest design competitions. In 1955, a jury convened for the first time to assess the best designs of the day. In the 1990s, Red Dot CEO Professor Dr. Peter Zec developed the name and brand of the award. Ever since, the sought-after Red Dot award has been the revered international seal of outstanding design quality. More information is available at www.red-dot.org.
